The Diver
I put on my aqua-lung and dive,exploring there
I see a giant tortoise plunge to the coral reef,
just missing a lonely lobster gliding across the sand.
I hide from a fearsome shark, sniffing the water for blood.
A crawling crayfish scuttles away. I come to an angry
octopus squirting its enemy with ink. Swaying seaweed
hide sleeping starfish. A fluttering flounder quickly swims
by in pursuit of a sliding seal.
But too soon the bitter cold wraps around me like a blanket
and pulls me to the surface. Back to the ordinary world.
